Sharon Evans
34 years of sitting in front of a computer working at a major corporation left Sharon with serious spine issues. In 2001, after several rounds of medication and physical therapy, the condition improved, but she knew she was looking for something that would help her in the long-term. Sharon started to hear about Pilates and it caught her attention. At that time, she didn't know about all of its benefits, like strengthening your core, keeping your spine pliable, and improving your posture. Sharon discovered a new studio close to home and signed up for her first package of private sessions with a trainer. She knew after the first session that she was hooked. What she didn't realize was that her love of Pilates would lead her to a new career.
In 2004, Sharon completed the first step by becoming mat certified through the PhysicalMind Institute. It took her three more years to become fully certified in all equipment but that dream was finally realized with her successful test out in Los Angeles in May of 2009. Pilates has made a wonderful difference in Sharon's quality of life. She firmly believe that Pilates has helped her live life without pain or surgery. Sharon looks forward to introducing new clients to The Method ® Pilates. She believes she can make a difference in your life also.
Genny Creel
Jenny attained her bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1995. After college she began focusing on her career and let exercise go to the wayside. She’s no stranger to exercise having been brought up dancing (ballet, jazz and modern/contemporary). In college, she was dancing four hours a day and choreographing modern dance numbers for Southeastern’s Danceworks program. After her first child, she began hitting the gym and taking random classes. She had her third child in December 2009 and, at that time, at the age of 38, had a hard time getting the baby weight off. So in July of 2010 after her 20th high school reunion and at the heaviest she’d ever been, began taking Pilates at Pilates Bodies. She lost most of her baby weight. With the encouragement and support of her current Pilates instructor and loving family, she became licensed to teach ZUMBA FITNESS® in October 2011. And in December, she was trained in house to teach Pilates Barre. Since that time has lost the remaining baby weight and then some. While she still works at her 40 hour/week job, she arranges her schedule to take and teach classes. She can’t deny the passion she’s found with Pilates and ZUMBA FITNESS®
